Seeing as how I started going to the gym 3 weeks ago, this is good news. At the same time I only have so much time to get my workout in so I'll have to stick to higher weight levels. C'est la vie.

"Current gym dogma holds that to build muscle size you need to lift heavy weights. However, a new study conducted at McMaster University has shown that a similar degree of muscle building can be achieved by using lighter weights. The secret is to pump iron until you reach muscle fatigue."

The only thing I learned from this article is that the people at McMaster University who conducted this study have not spent a lot of time actually working out at a gym.

Weight lifters have known for many years that you need to lift heavy weights(for low repetitions per set) to get stronger, while you would lift lighter weights(for higher repetitions per set) to get bigger.

Well I hope someone other than me learned more than what you did. Us noobs need to learn what you 'old hands' already know.
